Kingdom Causes Bellflower received a grant to help support their transitional housing home, Margaret’s House. Margaret’s House is a three-unit transitional home that offers short-term (6-9 months) housing and services for low-income families with minor dependent children. Margaret’s House provides each family with case management and housing search assistance in a dignified, high-quality living experience. The mission of Kingdom Causes Bellflower is to be a catalyst that inspires, connects, and mobilizes people towards personal and community transformation. Kingdom Causes Bellflower helps people get off the street, provides support services to those at risk of homelessness, creates pathways to sustainable work through social enterprise, and offers ongoing training and education to the community.
Kingdom Causes Bellflower regularly interacts with individuals and families who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Outreach workers develop relationships with community members on the street, and often distribute hygiene kits. Those kits are almost exclusively assembled by volunteers, area schools, churches, and businesses. Also, every year, KCB partners with area churches and volunteers to put on a Christmas Store. While many organizations give away presents, this store allows low-income parents to buy presents at deeply discounted prices. This allows parents to maintain the dignity of purchasing presents for their children.
