- This participant radiates joy. You can almost feel and hear the giggle coming from this picture.
- A participant and care partner share their appreciation with Kids & Horses instructors and volunteers.
- Dementia workshop
- The horse welcomes the participant during fence work. It is a horse’s inherent curiosity and herd mentality that creates the bond between horses and humans.
- Horses are highly in sync with their environment; interpreting and reacting to cues from their surroundings and other members of the herd. They have an innate ability to “read” behaviors and emotions and exhibit calm confidence, self-awareness, and self-control. The Dementia Project participants can then mirror those same behaviors.
